Absorbable Mesh Fixation Device
Ultimate Comfort and Safety in Laparoscopic Surgery
Absorbable mesh fixation device is for fixation of prosthetic material to soft tissue, which contains absorbable tacks. The absorbable tack is made of lactide/glycolide copolymer (PLGA). The tack degrades to lactic acid and glycolic acid in vivo which are then metabolized by the body. The tack is dyed with D&C Violet No.2 (CAS: 81-48-1). During the initial period after implantation, the degradation speed is slow to ensure fixation effectiveness. The retention shear strength can keep 85% after 12-week implantation. The tack will be totally absorbed after 52-week implantation. Absorbable mesh fixation device is sterile and single use.
- Fully absorbable – tackers gradually degrade in the body, leaving no permanent implant.
- Secure initial fixation – provides strong holding strength during early healing.
- Reduced chronic pain – eliminates long-term irritation compared to metal tackers.
- Flexible & atraumatic – designed to minimize tissue trauma during placement.
- Biocompatible materials – made from safe polymers like PGA / PLA for predictable absorption.
- Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair
- Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair (TAPP / TEP)
- Material: Poly (lactide-co glycolide) (PLGA),
- Sterilization : The absorbable tackers is sterilized using Ethylene Oxide (EO) gas to ensure product sterility and patient safety.
- Shelf Life : The shelf life of the sterilized absorbable tackers is 4 years from the date of manufacture, provided the packaging is intact and properly stored
- Packaging : It is individually packed in PVC blisters and Tyvek film, further packed with Aluminum pack, the final product is packed in pr-printed cartons 1 unit per carton.
